Across the series, two functions have been added as standard to the "IntelliSafe" safety and driver assistance system. "Oncoming Lane Mitigation" is a function that automatically operates the steering when it detects an unintentional drift into the oncoming lane while a vehicle is approaching from the opposite direction.
The other, "BLIS with Steering Assist," is an evolution of the Blind Spot Information System (BLIS). In the speed range of 60-140 km/h, it automatically operates the steering when another vehicle enters the blind spot or when there is a high risk of collision while the turn signal is activated for a lane change.
With the addition of these two functions, all models in the 90 Series will come standard with over 16 "IntelliSafe" features.
Additionally, for the V90, V90 Cross Country, and XC90, new body colors Denim Blue Metallic and Pine Grey Metallic have been added, along with interior colors Maroon Brown and perforated Nappa leather in a fine aniline finish.
For the V90, Volvo announced that the plug-in hybrid (PHV) "T8 Twin Engine," which combines a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with an electric motor, will be introduced from October this year. The powertrain consists of a direct-injection turbocharged engine with a supercharger and an electric motor producing 240 Nm located at the rear. The "electronically controlled rear air suspension / Driving Mode Selection FOUR-C Active Performance Chassis," previously an option, is now standard equipment.
Pricing starts at 6.69 million yen for the "V90 T5 Momentum" equipped with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder direct-injection turbo T5 engine, 7.79 million yen for the "V90 T6 AWD R-Design" with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder supercharged direct-injection turbo engine, 8.09 million yen for the "V90 T6 AWD Inscription," and 9.29 million yen for the "V90 T8 Twin Engine AWD Inscription."
The V90 Cross Country, which has a 55mm higher ride height than the V90 and features dedicated suspension and exterior styling, is available with T5 and T6 engines, both paired with a 4WD system, in two grades: "Momentum" and "Summum." Prices start at 6.99 million yen for the V90 Cross Country T5 AWD Momentum and 7.59 million yen for the Summum. For the T6, the Momentum is 7.69 million yen and the Summum is 8.29 million yen.
The XC90 is offered in four grades: "Momentum," "R-Design," and "Inscription," based on equipment and specifications, as well as the "Excellence," a top-tier 4-seater model with independent rear seats for the T8 Twin Engine PHV model. Maple Brown Metallic has also been added as a body color.
