Citroën C4 Gains New Grade and Specification Changes

Peugeot Citroën Japon announced on Monday, July 10th, that the five-door hatchback C4" has been given a new grade, "Shine," and sales have begun.

Enhanced Equipment, Same Price

Previously, the C4 was offered in two grades: "C4 Feel" and "C4 Feel BlueHDi." Following the recently announced new "C3," the grade name has been changed to "Shine," and specifications have been revised.

The "C4 Shine" comes with two powertrain options. The "C4 Shine" features a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder gasoline turbo engine producing a maximum output of 96kW (130ps) and a maximum torque of 230Nm. The "C4 Shine BlueHDi" is equipped with a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder clean diesel turbo engine, delivering a maximum output of 88kW (120ps) and a maximum torque of 300Nm.

Along with the name change, equipment has also been enhanced. A touchscreen with Bluetooth functionality, now supporting Japanese, is standard. The new design of the 16-inch alloy wheels features a two-tone finish with diamond-cut processing. Blind-spot monitoring has also been added to the safety features.

Despite the equipment upgrades, the price remains unchanged. The "C4 Shine" with the 1.2-liter gasoline turbo is priced at 2.59 million yen, and the "C4 Shine BlueHDi" with the 1.6-liter diesel turbo is 2.79 million yen.
