New "Chassis Cup" Intermediate Grade Added
"Renault Sport," a production model incorporating technology cultivated through Renault's motorsport activities. The "Renault Sport" model of the hatchback "Lutecia," which received a facelift in February this year, has been released.
The biggest feature of this minor change is the addition of the new intermediate grade, "Chassis Cup." It is positioned between the sportiest "Trophy" and "Chassis Sport" models.
All models are equipped with a 1.6-liter turbo engine and a 6-speed EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch) transmission. The maximum output is 162 kW (220 ps) for the Trophy and 147 kW (200 ps) for the Chassis Cup and Chassis Sport. Maximum torque is 260 Nm (26.5 kgm) for the Trophy and 240 Nm (24.5 kgm) for the Chassis Cup and Chassis Sport.
Driving modes can be selected from three types: "Normal," "Sport," and "Race." It also features the "R.S. Diff," patented by Renault Sport, which suppresses understeer during cornering, and "Launch Control," which allows for maximum acceleration from a standstill when Sport or Race mode is selected.
The exterior has been changed to a more aggressive look. The front design, in particular, features full LED headlamps, R.S. Vision with a checkerboard pattern motif that functions as position lamps, fog lamps, and cornering lamps, and a newly designed front bumper.
The interior also emphasizes a sporty feel, with headrests embroidered with the R.S. logo in red and seats with a new, less slippery surface material.
Body colors include Blanc Glacier (white), Rouge Flammé Metallic (red), Noir Profond Metallic (black), and Gris Platinium Metallic (silver). The John Sirius Metallic (yellow) is also available for all models except the Chassis Sport, for a total of five colors (four for the Chassis Sport). Prices are 3.29 million yen for the Lutecia R.S. Trophy, 3.09 million yen for the Lutecia R.S. Chassis Cup, and 2.84 million yen for the Lutecia R.S. Chassis Sport.
