Three Powertrains Available: Gasoline and Diesel

The "6 Series Gran Turismo," born as the successor to the "5 Series Gran Turismo," is a five-door model with a fastback style and a hatch gate, similar to the 5 Series Gran Turismo. With dimensions of 5,091mm in length, 1,902mm in width, and 1,538mm in height, it is 87mm longer and 21mm lower than its predecessor, giving it a more pronounced coupe-like silhouette.

By increasing the proportion of aluminum and high-tensile steel in the body and suspension, an average weight reduction of approximately 150kg has been achieved. Aerodynamics have also been improved, with the drag coefficient (Cd value) decreasing from 0.29 in the previous model to 0.25. The 0-100 km/h acceleration time has also been reduced for all models compared to their predecessors, with the "630i Gran Turismo" being 0.7 seconds faster.

Three powertrain options are available. The entry-level "630i Gran Turismo" features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline turbo engine producing a maximum output of 190 kW (258 hp) and a maximum torque of 400 Nm, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 6.3 seconds. Meanwhile, the "640i Gran Turismo," equipped with a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder gasoline turbo engine, delivers a maximum output of 250 kW (340 hp) and a maximum torque of 450 Nm. Its 0-100 km/h acceleration is 5.4 seconds for the rear-wheel-drive "640i Gran Turismo" and 5.3 seconds for the all-wheel-drive "640i xDrive Gran Turismo."

For diesel options, the "630d Gran Turismo" is offered with a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder diesel turbo engine, generating a maximum output of 195 kW (265 hp) and a maximum torque of 620 Nm. The 0-100 km/h acceleration is 6.1 seconds for the rear-wheel-drive "630d Gran Turismo" and 6.0 seconds for the all-wheel-drive "630d xDrive Gran Turismo."

The interior features a raised seat position for an expansive view. The rear seats accommodate three full-size seats, offering ample legroom and expanded headroom.

The infotainment system includes a 10.25-inch display and supports touch control via the center console, as well as voice and gesture commands. The integrated BMW Connected acts as a digital personal mobility assistant, enabling smartphone connectivity and providing real-time traffic information and parking space availability through services like On-Street Parking Information.

Sales are scheduled to begin in November, following the world premiere at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The launch date for Japan has not yet been determined.
