Rear Camera Mirror and Automatic Parking Assist Now Standard

The fourth generation, which arrived in Japan in 2015,Escaladeunderwent its first minor change.

The most significant change this time is the adoption of a new 8-speed automatic transmission for the 6.2-liter V8 engine powertrain. GM claims that compared to the previous 6-speed automatic, it more efficiently extracts engine power, reduces engine speed during high-speed cruising, and contributes to better fuel economy. Specifications remain unchanged, producing a maximum output of 313 kW (426 ps) and a maximum torque of 623 Nm (63.5 kgm).

In terms of safety equipment, the "Rear Camera Mirror with Camera Lens Washer," which offers three times the field of vision of conventional mirrors, and the Automatic Parking Assist, which handles everything from sensing parking spaces to steering for parallel and perpendicular parking, are now standard.

Furthermore, a low mode has been added to the 4WD system to improve off-road capability and towing performance. This is said to be particularly effective when towing heavy loads.

Additionally, for the top-tier "Platinum" grade, the second-row seating has been changed to a bench seat, increasing capacity from seven to eight people. Rear-seat entertainment equipment has also been enhanced with the addition of HDMI USB ports.

Meanwhile, the entry-level "Premium" grade now features new 22-inch 12-spoke aluminum wheels.

Both grades are available in two body colors: Sable Black and Crystal White Tricoat. Prices are ¥12.6 million for the Premium and ¥13.6 million for the Platinum.
