Four-Wheel-Drive Model Also Available

The "3 Series Gran Turismo" Arrived in Japan Last SeptemberNow Features a Clean Diesel Model.

The two new models added to the lineup are powered by a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder diesel engine with an aluminum alloy crankcase. It produces a maximum output of 140 kW (190 ps) and a maximum torque of 400 Nm (40.8 kgm), while achieving excellent fuel economy of 19.4 km/ℓ under the JC08 test cycle.

While the "320d Gran Turismo" is rear-wheel drive, the "320d Gran Turismo xDrive" is equipped with BMW's intelligent four-wheel-drive system, "xDrive." BMW claims that various sensors monitor road conditions and torque can be variably distributed between the front and rear axles to provide optimal traction.

Safety features include "Active Cruise Control," which automatically adjusts speed, and collision avoidance and mitigation braking systems, all as standard equipment.

Both models are available in two grades: "Luxury" and "M Sport." The price for the rear-wheel-drive Luxury model is 6.69 million yen, and the M Sport is 6.75 million yen. For the four-wheel-drive "xDrive" models, the Luxury grade is 7.00 million yen, and the M Sport is 7.06 million yen.
