The "Discovery" evolves into its fifth generation with a full model change. It features a lightweight monocoque body structure using aluminum for 85 percent of the body, achieving a weight reduction of 360kg compared to the current model.

The powertrain lineup includes a gasoline turbo engine and a diesel turbo engine. The gasoline engine is a 3.0-liter V6 turbo engine producing a maximum output of 340ps and a maximum torque of 450Nm. The diesel engine is also a 3.0-liter V6 turbo, with a maximum output of 258ps and a maximum torque of 600Nm, both paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The electronically controlled air suspension is equipped with two off-road modes that raise the vehicle's height according to the situation. It also features an electric inner tailgate, a first for the Discovery series, and a waterproof, shock-resistant wristband-style activity key, another Land Rover first.

Inside, the world's first Intelligent Seat Fold function allows the second and third-row seats to be folded using switches or the 10.2-inch touchscreen. Luggage space can be expanded from 258 liters to a maximum of 2,406 liters. Legroom is also generous, with 954mm in the second row and 851mm in the third row, ensuring ample interior space for seven adults.

This special edition model features 21-inch alloy wheels on the exterior. The interior boasts exclusive design elements such as "FIRST EDITION" etched badges on the center console and cartography finishers that depict the journey of past Discoveries on a map.

Three body colors are available: Namib Orange, Silicon Silver, and Farallon Black. Globally, only 2,400 units are produced, with 30 allocated for Japan. Prices vary depending on the powertrain and body color combination, ranging from 10,317,000 to 10,457,000 yen for the gasoline engine, and 10,517,000 to 10,447,000 yen for the diesel.
