Over 1,200km Range from an 85-Liter Tank

Following the Q8 concept unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show in January, the Q8 Sport concept has arrived with a sportier character.

Its most significant feature is likely the mild-hybrid system incorporating an electric powered compressor.

The engine is a 3.0-liter V6 TFSI twin-turbo. The entire system produces a maximum output of 350 kW (476 ps) and peak torque of 700 Nm, paired with an 8-speed tiptronic transmission. It features all-wheel drive and achieves 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. Thanks to its mild-hybrid technology, it adds 20 kW of recuperation capacity and 170 Nm of torque, enabling a cruising range of over 1,200 km on its 85-liter tank.

This mild-hybrid system is located between the crankshaft and the transmission. The starter generator handles energy recuperation and operates in reverse when needed, acting as an auxiliary electric motor. A 0.9 kWh lithium-ion battery is housed beneath the rear luggage compartment.

With dimensions of 5.02 meters long and 2.05 meters wide, the body largely retains the Q8 concept's design, including its nearly flat and wide C-pillars. However, the air inlets on both sides are larger than those on the Q8 concept, designed to draw in more air. Additionally, a body-colored blade is integrated below the bumper.

The 3-meter wheelbase creates a spacious interior, comfortably seating four people, and the luggage compartment offers a capacity of 630 liters. The seats are a combination of fine Nappa leather and Alcantara. The infotainment system incorporates the latest technologies, including a head-up display utilizing augmented reality.
