The model variations are four types: "X1 sDrive18i," "X1 sDrive20i," "X1 xDrive20i," and "X1 xDrive28i." As is clear from the model names, the "X1 sDrive20i" has been added as a two-wheel-drive model.

The powertrain for the "sDrive18i" is a 2-liter inline 4-cylinder naturally aspirated gasoline engine (max output 110kW (150ps)/6,400rpm, max torque 200Nm (20.4kgm)/3,600rpm). The "sDrive20i" and "xDrive20i" feature a 2-liter inline 4-cylinder gasoline turbo engine (max output 135kW (184ps)/5,000rpm, max torque 270Nm (27.5kgm)/1,250-4,500rpm). The top grade "xDrive28i" uses the same 2-liter inline 4-cylinder gasoline turbo engine as the "xDrive20i" but in a higher output version (max output 180kW (245ps)/5,000rpm, max torque 350Nm (35.7kgm)/1,250-4,800rpm).

The entry-grade "X1 sDrive18i" comes standard with a "Brake Energy Regeneration system" that charges a battery with electricity generated during braking, reducing engine load during startup. This improves fuel efficiency by 11 percent compared to the previous generation. The JC08 mode fuel economy is rated at 12.0 km/ℓ.

The newly established "X1 sDrive20i" is equipped with an "Engine Auto Start/Stop function," a "Brake Energy Regeneration system," and an "ECO PRO mode" to support fuel-efficient driving. It achieves a JC08 mode fuel economy of 14.9 km/ℓ. The transmission is an 8-speed automatic.

The "xDrive20i" and "xDrive28i" feature an "Engine Auto Start/Stop function" and "ECO PRO mode," resulting in a 15-19 percent improvement in fuel efficiency compared to the previous models. Both achieve a JC08 mode fuel economy of 13.6 km/ℓ.

The exterior has been updated with a redesigned front bumper and rear skid plate, as well as LED lighting for the small lights within the headlights and newly designed door mirrors. The interior features chrome accents on the shift lever, light switch, and cup holders.

Furthermore, with this minor change, the "xLine," which emphasizes the robustness of the "X1," and the "Sport," which emphasizes sportiness, have been newly added to all grades, along withBMWand the "M Sport," equipped with parts from M GmbH, has also been added to the lineup.

Prices are 3.67 million yen for the "X1 sDrive18i," 4.04 million yen for the "X1 sDrive20i," 4.27 million yen for the "X1 xDrive20i," and 4.99 million yen for the "X1 xDrive28i."
