Twelve Units Created at the Request of Dealers
Based on Bentley's two-door coupe,Continental GT V8 Sthe "Continental GT V8 S Mooncloud Edition" features the concept of a "car that shines under the moonlight." To embody this, the body color is a duo-tone (two-tone) combination of Moonbeam, a silver hue called "moonlight," and Onyx, the deepest black. Incidentally, this is the first model in Japan to feature a duo-tone finish on a coupe.
The interior similarly features a black base, with Beluga black hide (leather) and Piano Black wood panels. Additionally, accents of Klein Blue are incorporated. "This expresses the image of clouds glowing blue as they float in the moonlight," explains Noriko Yokokura, Marketing PR Manager at Bentley Motors Japan. This creates an elegant impression.
This Klein Blue accent is found in the stitching on the seats, dashboard, doors, and steering wheel, as well as in the piping of the floor mats and trunk carpet. The face of the analog Breitling clock on the center console also features this accent color, as do the seat embroideries.

Hidden Delights
Yokokura further elaborated, "High-quality suits tailored in London's Savile Row may appear understated at first glance, but their linings often feature surprisingly vibrant colors. This is a private pleasure, a hidden splash of color." She continued, "Japanese people share a similar sensibility with their kimonos, and with the Mooncloud Edition, we aimed to realize this 'private pleasure' through the 'Hidden Delight' interior."
This Hidden Delight interior is an option from Mulliner, originally available only for the flagship saloon,Mulsannebut has been specially prepared for the Continental GT on this occasion. Specifically, the aforementioned Klein Blue is applied to the interior of the armrest, craft wood case, and glove box lid, offering the pleasure of discovering the color only upon opening them.
The most distinctive detail in the interior is the geometric pattern on the dashboard on the passenger side. This is a geometric design inspired by clouds, which "expresses Japanese culture and luxury by weaving modern art onto Bentley's classic panels, combining tradition and cutting-edge design." This white area is made of mother-of-pearl.
This Mooncloud Edition was created at the request of Japanese retailers (dealers).
"Inspired by the limited edition Continental GT Speed Breitling Jet, produced in just seven units in 2015, there was a strong request from our dealers that a duo-tone finish would be well-received in Japan, leading to the creation of this car," said Yokokura. Breitling is an official partner of Bentley, and their aerobatic jet team is the 'Breitling Jet.' The Continental GT Speed was the base for this aircraft-inspired creation. The duo-tone finish used on the Breitling Jet has been recreated here with a Japanese aesthetic in mind.

What is Mulliner, Bentley's Bespoke and Limited Edition Specialist?
The Mulliner program, which specializes in Bentley's bespoke models and limited editions, was responsible for the Mooncloud Edition, as it was for the aforementioned "Continental GT Speed Breitling Jet."
Mulliner originally began in 1559 as a business crafting horse saddles, later moving on to manufacturing carriages. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, it transitioned into a workshop specializing in automotive coachwork. At the 1923 London Motor Show, Mulliner crafted a bespoke Bentley 3-liter two-seater, marking the beginning of the partnership between Mulliner and Bentley. Subsequently, they produced historic models such as the "R Type Continental." In 1959, Mulliner became part of the Rolls-Royce Bentley group, working on numerous cars as the bespoke division for both companies. In 2002, they produced and delivered a custom limousine for Queen Elizabeth II.
Currently, Mulliner comprises four divisions: Mulliner Features, which handles specific equipment like rear champagne coolers; the Limited Editions division; the Bespoke division; and the Coachbuilding division. The "Grand Limousine" announced at last year's Geneva Motor Show was finished by the Coachbuilding division. Last year, Mulliner customized over 200 vehicles according to customer preferences.
