Jaguar's Fixed Head Coupés Also Restored at Salon Rétromobile

The Reborn series breathes new life into cars born in the 1970s, thanks to the skilled hands of Land Rover's restoration specialists. The third installment of this project, which began last year, is the "Classic Range Rover Reborn" unveiled in Paris.

The "Classic Range Rover Reborn" is based on the first-generation Range Rover, a 1978 three-door model. The original model was produced from 1970 until its discontinuation in 1996, and early models, in particular, known as "Classic Range Rovers," remain highly popular today.

To maintain the authenticity of the Land Rover vehicles during restoration, only Land Rover Classic Parts are used, reflecting a meticulous approach. The experienced restoration team revives the classic style of yesteryear, in accordance with the original specifications, by reflecting the chassis number and unique characteristics of each individual vehicle.

The powertrain is the same 3.5-liter V8 engine as originally fitted, producing 132 bhp and 251 Nm of torque, paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. The body is finished in Bahama Gold. Jaguar Land Rover will restore ten limited-edition Range Rovers from the 1970s in the same manner, with prices starting from £135,000 (approximately ¥19.31 million).

At "Salon Rétromobile 2017," a restored 1962 "E-Type Series I Fixed Head Coupé" was also displayed. Furthermore, the "XKSS," a Jaguar that is both new and a faithful recreation of the original, made its European debut.
