At the 16th Moscow International Motor Show, currently underway, Audi announced and premiered the significantly revised 2013 model of its high-performance sports car, the R8.



Although six years have passed since its debut, this R8 refinement includes exterior changes such as redesigned front and rear bumpers, exhaust tips, and updated headlight and taillight designs, along with the addition of new grades. Among these, the most significant and noteworthy change is the replacement of the 6-speed single-clutch "R tronic" transmission with a 7-speed dual-clutch "S tronic" transmission for the V10 engine models.



The V8 engine models come standard with the 6-speed "R tronic," but the 7-speed "S tronic" is available as an option.



This is the most substantial revision the R8 has undergone since its launch. While there are no major changes to the engine specifications themselves, the adoption of a higher-performance, multi-speed transmission is expected to enhance its dynamic capabilities.



The interior features seats with diamond-pattern stitching, a similarly stitched and Alcantara-covered headliner, and other luxurious appointments. Naturally, customization is also possible through "Audi exclusive" to tailor it further to individual preferences.



Audi is also exhibiting the newly introduced "R8 V10 Plus" at the show, which is drawing considerable attention. Positioned as the top-tier grade for the 2013 model, this R8 V10 Plus is powered by a 5.2-liter V10 engine tuned to produce 550 horsepower and 55.1 kgm of torque. It is paired with the 7-speed "S tronic" transmission, achieving 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 317 km/h. The chassis is enhanced with dedicated sport suspension, and it includes bucket seats, embodying the performance and equipment expected of a top-grade model.
