The Mercedes-Maybach "S 650 Cabriolet," which had its world premiere at the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show, will be produced in a limited run.

The base model is the four-seater "Mercedes-AMG S 65 Cabriolet." While retaining the 6.0-liter V12 twin-turbo engine producing a maximum output of 463kW (630ps) and peak torque of 1,000Nm, along with safety features like "Distronic Plus" for maintaining distance and assisting steering, and comfort amenities, it has been given a bespoke design.

The soft top features a three-layer construction, creating a remarkably quiet cabin. It can be operated via a switch on the center console or with the key from outside the vehicle, and can be opened or closed in approximately 20 seconds while driving at speeds up to 50 km/h. When closing the soft top, it is automatically stowed in the trunk's luggage cover, incorporating a mechanism to prevent luggage from being soiled by the soft top.

The dazzling headlights incorporate 47 Swarovski crystals each in a dedicated LED high-performance design. Thirty crystal cylinders are used for the turn signals, while the remaining 17 cut crystals are positioned for the daytime running lights, creating a luxurious aesthetic.

The interior, meanwhile, partially adopts ideas from the "Concept S-Class Coupe" concept car unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, such as the "flowing lines" on the seats. Furthermore, Maybach emblems and lettering are applied throughout, including on the center console and front seats. The cup holder is inscribed with "1 of 300," signifying the global limited production of 300 units.

Additionally, purchasers will receive accessories including a travel luggage set comprising two travel bags and two lifestyle bags, as well as a key holder with an emblem. The color scheme of the bags and key holder will coordinate with the interior design, enhancing the sense of luxury.

A total of over 3,000 combinations are possible, with 16 exterior colors, 10 interior colors, 4 types of interior trim, and 5 soft top colors. However, for the 4 units sold in Japan, the color schemes are already decided, such as the Zircon Red body color with a beige soft top for one of them.

The steering wheel is only available on the left side, and only 4 units will be sold in Japan. The price is 44.2 million yen. Orders are limited until January 31st, with deliveries scheduled to begin in October 2017.
