Radar Safety Package Now Standard

The main change this time is that the "Radar Safety Package," a safety driving support system that measures the distance and relative speed to obstacles such as vehicles ahead, to the sides, and behind using five millimeter-wave radar sensors and one camera, and automatically applies the brakes to reduce the risk of collision, is now standard on all models.

With the inclusion of this package, various systems are now equipped, such as "BAS (Brake Assist System) Plus" and "PRE-SAFE Brake" which detect hazards ahead using 24GHz and 77GHz radar sensors and support collision avoidance, and "Distronic Plus" which automatically controls braking and acceleration to maintain an appropriate distance from the vehicle ahead, and also features a traffic jam assist function that decelerates and stops when the preceding vehicle stops. This significantly enhances safety and comfort.

Additionally, rear seat heaters have been added to all models, and the "CLS 350 BlueEFFICIENCY" and "CLS 550 BlueEFFICIENCY" come standard with split-folding rear seats, increasing maximum cargo capacity.

The prices are set at 9.45 million yen for the CLS 350 BlueEFFICIENCY, an increase of 150,000 yen compared to the previous model; 11.9 million yen for the CLS 550 BlueEFFICIENCY, an increase of 150,000 yen compared to the previous model; and 16.55 million yen for the CLS 63 AMG, an increase of 100,000 yen compared to the previous model.

Furthermore, as an option, a new matte paint color, Magnetite Grey, has been added (220,000 yen). Additionally, the "Bang & Olufsen BeoSound AMG Sound System" has been newly offered as an option (400,000 yen) for the "CLS 550 BlueEFFICIENCY" and "CLS 63 AMG," tailored to the interior space. It reportedly features 15 speakers with a total output of 1,200W and tweeters capable of transmitting sound horizontally and evenly in a 180-degree arc.

In addition, the prices of existing package options have been reduced, and for the CL 63 AMG, an "AMG Carbon Package" (900,000 yen) has been added as a package option for a more aggressive interior and exterior dress-up.
