CLS Shooting Brake: European Pricing and Launch Date Confirmed



Mercedes-Benz has announced the launch timing and pricing for its "CLS Shooting Brake," a model that combines a coupe-like silhouette with the practicality of a wagon.

CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake Arrives in Europe Priced Around ¥11.58 Million



The wagon version of the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class, which we have reported on several times before,CLS Shooting Brakehas finally had its European launch date set for October 6th.

The lineup, similar to the CLS four-door model, will include a standard model and
an AMG model as the top grade.Furthermore, a high-performance version of the AMG model, the "Edition 1," will be offered for a limited period of one year.

This "Edition 1" model will feature floor mats with "Edition 1" badging, a special interior leather color, and body color options named after precious metals and gems: "Palladium Silver Metallic," "Obsidian Black Metallic," and "Cavansite Blue Metallic."









The CLS Shooting Brake will be available with a total of five power units: two diesel engines and three gasoline engines.

The 2,143cc inline-4 diesel engine in the "CLS 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY" produces a maximum output of 205ps and a maximum torque of 500Nm. Fuel economy is 5.3ℓ/100km (approx. 19km/ℓ) with CO2 emissions of 139g/km.

The 2,987cc V6 diesel engine in the "CLS 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY" and its four-wheel-drive counterpart "CLS 350 CDI 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY" produces a maximum output of 265ps and a maximum torque of 620Nm. Fuel economy for the two-wheel-drive model is 6.0ℓ/100km (approx. 16km/ℓ) with CO2 emissions of 159g/km, while the four-wheel-drive model achieves 6.6ℓ/100km (approx. 15km/ℓ) with CO2 emissions of 174g/km.

Meanwhile, the gasoline engines include a 3,498cc V6 engine in the "CLS 350 BlueEFFICIENCY" that produces a maximum output of 306ps and a maximum torque of 370Nm, with fuel economy of 7.3ℓ/100km (approx. 13.7km/ℓ) and CO2 emissions of 169g/km.

The "CLS 500 BlueEFFICIENCY" and its four-wheel-drive variant "CLS 500 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY" are equipped with a 4,663cc V8 engine generating a maximum output of 408ps and a maximum torque of 600Nm. Fuel economy for the standard model is 9.2ℓ/100km (approx. 10.8km/ℓ) with CO2 emissions of 214g/km, and for the four-wheel-drive model, it is 9.8ℓ/100km (approx. 10.2km/ℓ) with 229g/km.

Additionally, a 5,461cc V8 twin-turbo engine exclusively for the AMG model delivers a maximum output of 525ps and a maximum torque of 700Nm. Fuel economy is 10.1ℓ/100km (approx. 9.9km/ℓ), with CO2 emissions at 235g/km.










The transmission paired with these engines is the "7G-TRONIC PLUS" for all models, except for the CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake, which will use the "AMG Speed-shift MCT."

It is reported that the aforementioned "Edition 1" will feature a tuned version of the V8 engine from the CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake, with an increased maximum output of 557ps and a maximum torque of 800Nm.

Domestic pricing in Europe starts at €61,761 (approx. ¥6.08 million) for the "CLS 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY" with the diesel engine. The "CLS 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY" is priced at €65,628.50 (approx. ¥6.47 million), and the "CLS 350 CDI 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY" at €68,365.50 (approx. ¥6.73 million).

For the gasoline engine models, the "CLS 350 BlueEFFICIENCY" is set at €66,818.50 (approx. ¥6.58 million), while the "CLS 500 BlueEFFICIENCY" and "CLS 500 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY" are priced at €82,229 (approx. ¥8.10 million) and €84,966 (approx. ¥8.37 million) respectively.

The top-tier "CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake" is priced at €117,512.50 (approx. ¥11.58 million). Pricing for the "Edition 1" has not yet been announced.
