Black Wheels for a Sporty Look
Since its launch in 1979, the "G-Class" has evolved its powertrain and other aspects to keep pace with the times, while its basic styling has remained unchanged. This latest update focuses on revisions to the suspension and infotainment system.
The infotainment system now features the latest "COMAND system" as standard on all models. The 8-inch "COMAND system" display includes not only navigation, radio, TV, and audio, but also supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for smartphone integration. It allows for video playback, hands-free calling, access to the address book, internet connectivity, and vehicle settings. Additionally, a rearview camera with parking assist and guide lines has been added for reversing.
The exterior is enhanced with "black wheels" for a sportier stance. The "G 550" with its 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo direct-injection engine is equipped with 19-inch wheels, while the Mercedes-AMG "G 63" with its 5.5-liter V8 turbo and the "G 65" with its 6.0-liter V12 turbo receive 20-inch wheels. Furthermore, "carbon fiber design side trim" is now standard on the "G 63" and "G 65" to enhance the exterior's dynamic appeal.
Inside the AMG models, a "two-tone dashboard" crafted from Nappa leather is available. It comes standard on the "G 65" and is an optional feature for the "G 63".
Pricing starts at 10.8 million yen for the 3.0-liter V6 turbo-diesel direct-injection "G 350 d", 15.3 million yen for the "G 550", 19.71 million yen for the Mercedes-AMG "G 63", and 35.64 million yen for the "G 65".
