BMW has announced the "30 Jahre M3" (30 Years M3) special limited edition, celebrating 30 years since the birth of its high-performance M3 model. Limited to 500 units worldwide, it will be sold in Japan in a limited run of 30 units.

Featuring "Macao Blue Metallic," the Original Special Color

Thirty years have passed since the first M3 was born in 1986. A special anniversary edition has been created to commemorate this milestone.

The body color is a standout feature. The "30 Jahre M3" is finished in "Macao Blue Metallic," the very first special color offered on the original M3. It is equipped with lightweight 20-inch M light-alloy wheels. Additionally, sporty touches include a high-gloss black finish for the kidney grille, side gills, and the model badge on the rear.

The powertrain features theM3"Competition Package," which enhances the performance of the M3, as standard equipment. The 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder twin-turbo engine's maximum output is increased by 14 kW (19 ps) from the standard model to 331 kW (450 ps) at 7,000 rpm, achieving 0-100 km/h in 4.0 seconds. Maximum torque is 550 Nm (56.1 kgm) at 2,350-5,500 rpm, paired with a 7-speed M DCT (M Double Clutch Transmission).

Inside, the front seat headrests feature "30 JAHRE M3" stitching, and the interior is finished in a special bi-color scheme of black and fjord blue Merino leather. The carbon fiber interior trim is also adorned with "30 JAHRE M3" logos and lettering indicating its status as one of the 500 limited units produced worldwide.

In Japan, only 30 units will be available, all with right-hand drive. A lottery will be held if there are more applicants than available units, with deliveries scheduled to begin sequentially from the end of October. The price is 13.4 million yen, which is 2.36 million yen higher than the standard M3.
