Utilizing the Motor System from the "918 Spyder"
The 4-door model, which was fully redesigned in June this year and just entered its second generation,Panamera" was joined by the hybrid model "4 E-Hybrid," which made its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show.
In terms of powertrain, it utilizes the motor system from the "918 Spyder" which achieved a production car lap record of 6 minutes and 57 seconds at the Nürburgring. The motor alone generates an output of 100 kW (136 ps) and 400 Nm of torque. In E-Power mode, running on electricity alone, it can reach a maximum speed of 140 km/h and travel up to 50 km on a single charge.
Additionally, the 2.9-liter V6 twin-turbo engine delivers a maximum output of 243 kW (330 ps) and a maximum torque of 450 Nm. The system as a whole boasts a maximum output of 340 kW (462 ps) and a maximum torque of 700 Nm. Combined with the 8-speed PDK transmission and all-wheel drive, the top speed reaches 278 km/h, with 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4.6 seconds.
Driving modes can be selected from six options, including "E-Power" (electric-only), "Sport," "Hybrid Auto," and "E-Charge."
The installed lithium-ion battery has increased in capacity from 9.4 kWh to 14.1 kWh while maintaining the same weight. A full charge can be achieved in 5.8 hours with a 230V, 10A connection. Alternatively, using the optional 7.2 kW onboard charger instead of the standard 3.6 kW charger on the Panamera, a full charge can be completed in 3.6 hours with a 230V, 32A connection.
While the exterior maintains the previous model's concept, the powertrain, display, and operating concept have been revamped. In addition to a 12.3-inch touchscreen, two 7-inch displays are installed on either side of the analog rev counter, making it more interactive. Furthermore, a hybrid-specific power meter has been equipped.
Meanwhile, Porsche's "911 GT3 Cup" which Porsche claims is the world's best-selling racing car, also made its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show. It features a 4-liter flat-six engine producing a maximum output of 485 ps, with a vehicle weight of 1,200 kg.
The Panamera 4E-Hybrid will be available with right-hand drive in Japan, with a sales price of 14.07 million yen.
