Spacious Interior Wrapped in Full Leather Creates a Luxurious Ambiance
Daimler's premier luxury brand, Mercedes-Maybachhas introduced the "S 600 Pullman," a special model that represents the pinnacle of its lineup. This Pullman was first unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in February of last year and has now made its debut in Japan.
With a total length of 6,500mm, the body size is more than 1,000mm longer than the Maybach S 600"Maybach S 600." The wheelbase measures 4,418mm. Furthermore, the overall height is 1,598mm, over 100mm taller than the S-Class, with a modified roofline to increase headroom.
The resulting spacious cabin is upholstered entirely in leather, creating a luxurious environment. The rear compartment features four seats arranged face-to-face. The owner and special guests are provided with executive seats that can recline up to 43.5 degrees forward, while other passengers have foldable, movable seats facing backward. When the rear-facing seats are stowed, a display emerges from the underside of the seat, available for use by those in the executive seats.
Above the executive seats, three analog meters display outside temperature, speed, and time. Meanwhile, the partition between the driver's area and the rear compartment can be adjusted in height and opacity electrically for privacy. When closed, communication between the rear and front seats occurs via the speakers.
The audio system is a sound system co-developed with Burmester, a German high-end audio specialist. Its 16 high-performance speakers deliver a total output of 850W.
The powertrain is the same 6.0-liter V12 twin-turbo engine found in the Maybach S 600, producing a maximum output of 390 kW (530 hp) and a peak torque of 830 Nm (84.6 kgm). It is paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission, the "7G-TRONIC."
The "S 600 Pullman" is designed as a chauffeur-driven vehicle for VIPs rather than for self-driving. It features a left-hand drive and is available in eight body colors, including "Cote d'Azur Blue Metallic" and "Ayers Rock Red." The price is 88 million yen.
