GT Line Equipped with Grip Control and All-Season Tires
Peugeot's brand strategy for the coming year emphasizes 'SUV', an intention reflected in the 2008. The minor change brings a more powerful presence.
The most significant changes are to the exterior. The SUV look is enhanced with a larger front grille, and front and rear underguards with black bumpers. In addition to the entry-grade 'Allure', a sporty 'GT Line' grade has been newly established.
The 'Allure' features chrome parts on the front grille and side window moldings for a premium feel. The 'GT Line' adopts 'Grip Control', which offers five modes including 'Normal', 'Off', 'Snow', 'Mud', and 'Sand'. This system, an evolution of the standard ESP, controls engine torque and brakes to achieve optimal traction, enhancing off-road capability for a front-wheel-drive vehicle to meet SUV expectations. It also comes standard with 17-inch all-season tires.
The interior features an instrument panel with blue trim for the Allure. In the GT Line, red accents on the seats, steering wheel, door grips, and seatbelts create a sporty atmosphere.
The powertrain for both is the PURETECH, which has been introduced in models such as the308'308'. It combines a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder turbo engine producing a maximum output of 110ps and maximum torque of 205Nm with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The body colors include six options such as the new Ultimate Red and Altance Grey. The price is 2.62 million yen for the Allure and 2.85 million yen for the GT Line.
