The Sportiest 1 Series Opens for Orders

On August 1st, BMW announced the commencement of orders for the "M135i," the first model in Japan from "M Performance Automobiles," a new brand launched by M GmbH earlier this year. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in October 2012.

Sporty Tuning for Powertrain and Chassis

"M Performance Automobiles," the new brand established this year by M GmbH, which handles BMW's high-performance models, aims to combine the practicality of BMW models with driving dynamics that surpass standard models, achieved through high-performance powertrains and chassis. Based on the second-generation "BMW 1 Series" BMW 1 Series, which underwent a full model change last September, this model is equipped with a 3-liter inline 6-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine tuned by M GmbH. It produces a maximum output of 235 kW (320 hp) at 5,800 rpm and a maximum torque of 450 Nm (45.9 kgm) at 1,300-4,500 rpm. The Japanese specification transmission is an 8-speed automatic only, with 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4.9 seconds.

Furthermore, the dynamically tuned "Adaptive M Suspension" and "M Sport Brakes" with opposed-piston brake calipers support its spirited driving.

The exterior features a powerful and commanding front view, characterized by a front apron with large air intakes and mirrors painted in Ferric Grey, symbolizing "M Performance Automobiles."

The interior creates a sporty yet refined space with blue highlights. It is equipped with sports seats that firmly support the body during cornering, featuring electric adjustable side supports, and a multifunction M Sport leather steering wheel.

The price is 5,490,000 yen.
