Evoque's Seventh Model, the Convertible, Now Available for Order

Jaguar Land Rover Japan announced the convertible model of the compact SUV "Range Rover Evoque" on the 8th. Orders began on Friday the 9th.

Soundproof Soft-Top Roof Designed to Enhance Styling

Previously, the "Evoque" and the "Convertible" were released in Japan as the seventh model.

To preserve the original Evoque design, the style features a Z-fold retractable soft-top roof with soundproofing. Operated by a switch on the center console, the roof can be opened in 21 seconds or stowed in 18 seconds, even while driving at speeds up to 48 km/h.

The space required to stow the roof necessitated a redesign of the vehicle body behind the front doors, the tailpipes, and the spoiler. Furthermore, the A-pillars have been reinforced for rollover protection, and deployable rollover bars are integrated within the rear quarter panels. In the event of a rollover, two aluminum bars instantly extend to create a safe space for occupants.

The interior is equipped to the same standard as the "HSE Dynamic" grade, utilizing premium materials such as Oxford leather. The luggage compartment offers 251 liters of space, regardless of whether the roof is open or closed, and it is also equipped with the latest "InControl Touch Pro" infotainment system.

The powertrain remains the same as other models, with a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine producing a maximum output of 177 kW (240 ps) and a maximum torque of 340 Nm (34.7 kgm), paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Like the "HSE Dynamic" grade, it comes standard with the All Terrain Progress Control system, which maintains a constant speed using only steering input on slippery surfaces or downhill descents.

The price is set at 7.65 million yen.

Limited-Time "Evoque Cafe" Also Appears

In commemoration of the launch of the Evoque Convertible, an "Evoque Cafe" in collaboration with "Toraya" was held at the Yurakucho Station Plaza from September 9th (Friday) to 11th (Sunday).

Land Rover owners and those who presented a photo posted on Instagram with the hashtag "#イヴォークカフェ" received original shaved ice, with the first 200 people each day. For more details, please check the Land Rover website.
