“Well, it’s a bit different from your average golf cart,”

says David Coulthard, former F1 driver, as he loads the golf bags of Australian professional golfer Adam Scott into the car. He’s driving the high-performance version of the recently announced Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake, the CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake.

As OPENERS has already reported, the “CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake” is a model that is said to deliver astonishing performance, powered by a 5.5-liter V8 twin-turbo engine—also used in models like the “SL 63 AMG”—producing a maximum output of 386 kW (525 hp) at 5,250–5,750 rpm and a peak torque of 700 Nm at 1,750–5,250 rpm, with 0–100 km/h acceleration in 4.4 seconds. However, in this video, it cruises leisurely through the streets of a British town, emphasizing its elegant image rather than its raw power.

Adam Scott, who prefers to spend his time before a match just as he normally would, is also a brand ambassador for Mercedes-Benz, a sponsor of the Open Championship. In this video, during a short drive before training, he commented that the CLS Shooting Brake has a unique design.

David Coulthard, on the other hand, commented on the CLS Shooting Brake: “I like that Mercedes-Benz always surprises us by doing new things. The CLS Shooting Brake has a very sporty look, but it’s also practical for everyday use. Of course, it has ample space, as you’d expect from this type of car.”

The CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake is set to make its world debut on July 22nd, coinciding with the 10th round of the F1 Grand Prix season, the German Grand Prix, at the Hockenheimring.
