Volvo's Most Powerful V60/S60 Polestar Models Debut
Volvo Cars has announced new versions of its complete cars, the “S60 PolestarS60 Polestar” and the V60 Polestar, developed by Polestar, Volvo's dedicated tuning specialist. The powertrain has been updated from the previous 3-liter inline-six engine to a 2-liter four-cylinder turbo engine.

Powertrain Updated, Polestar Achieves Peak Performance
The S60 Polestar sedan and V60 Polestar station wagon, first unveiled as road-legal models two years ago and sold in limited numbers annually until last year, have undergone their first powertrain change. The previous 3-liter inline-six "T6 engine" has been replaced by a new "Drive-E" inline-four turbo and supercharger engine.
Despite the smaller displacement, various enhancements including a larger turbocharger, reinforced supercharger, modified connecting rods and camshafts, and enlarged air intake have boosted the maximum output by 17 ps to a record 367 ps, with a peak torque of 470 Nm. This is paired with a BorgWarner all-wheel-drive system optimized for Polestar and an 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
Furthermore, the vehicle weight has been reduced by 24 kg on the front axle and 20 kg overall compared to last year's model. These improvements result in a 0-100 km/h acceleration of 4.7 seconds (4.8 seconds for the V60) and a top speed of 250 km/h, electronically limited.
New features also include 20-inch lightweight wheels and an electric power steering system tuned by Polestar.
In addition, the annual production of the S60/V60 Polestar will double from the previous 750 units to 1,500, and sales will expand from 13 countries to 47. Details regarding the sales timing and volume in Japan are yet to be announced. We await further information on pricing and other specifications.
