The "GLK" has evolved into a design that gives a much stronger impression compared to the previous model, with LED position lights arranged in an arc within the newly designed headlight lenses, reflecting the design concept seen in recent Mercedes-Benz models, and a chrome arch from the lower bumper resembling a grille guard or kangaroo bumper.
Not only the exterior but also the interior has been updated. First, by adopting "DIRECT SELECT," the shift lever has moved from the center console to the steering column. Additionally, the air conditioning vents have been changed from the traditional rectangular shape to a round shape with a chrome ring, and the steering wheel has been replaced with a sportier design. Combined with the tidier center console thanks to the shift lever's move to the column, the interior impression has changed significantly.
New Engine Adopted
Replacing the previous 3.0-liter V6 engine, the new model is equipped with a direct-injection 3.5-liter V6 BlueDIRECT technology engine that utilizes "piezo injectors" and a "spray-guided combustion system." The maximum output has increased by 75 ps to 306 ps, and the maximum torque has increased by 70 Nm to 370 Nm. While achieving high mobility, fuel efficiency has been improved by approximately 30% by adopting the evolved "7G-TRONIC PLUS" from the previous model's 7-speed automatic transmission and the "ECO start-stop function" that stops the engine when stationary.
Furthermore, safety driving support systems such as "ATTENTION ASSIST," which analyzes the driver's driving characteristics and alerts them to fatigue or drowsiness during long drives, and "Adaptive Highbeam Assist," which automatically switches between high and low beams according to road conditions to ensure visibility during night driving, are standard equipment. The price is set strategically at 5.99 million yen.
