A Circuit Model You Can Drive on Public Roads
“M4 GTS” was created to commemorate the 30th anniversary of BMW's high-performance model "M3." It enhances the potential of the existing "M4" and is designed for circuit use, yet is also capable of driving on public roads.
The engine is a 3-liter inline six-cylinder twin-turbo. Maximum output is 368kW (500ps), an increase of 51kW (69ps) over the base model, and maximum torque is 600Nm (61.2kgm), an increase of 50Nm (5.1kgm). Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 3.8 seconds, and it completes the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 7 minutes and 28 seconds. The transmission is a 7-speed M DCT Drivelogic. Additionally, it is equipped with features for circuit driving such as Launch Control and a Water Injection System. Furthermore, the M4 GTS comes with the "M Driver's Package," which raises the speed limiter from 250 km/h to 305 km/h.
Weight reduction has also been thoroughly pursued. The exterior features a roof made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), a movable rear wing, a diffuser below the rear bumper, and a front splitter. These not only reduce weight but also lower the center of gravity. Additionally, it is the world's first production car to feature organic LEDs for the rear lights, which emit light uniformly across a flat surface, unlike conventional LEDs.
The interior is equipped with numerous exclusive features, including dedicated M bucket seats, an Alcantara M Sport steering wheel, and Anthracite trim with GTS lettering.
The Japanese specification comes standard with the "Clubsport Package," which includes acid orange painted dedicated roll bars and a 6-point seatbelt in addition to the standard 3-point seatbelt.
Two body colors are available: Alpine White and the optional Frozen Gray Metallic.
The M4 GTS will be sold in a limited edition of 700 units worldwide, with 30 units allocated for Japan. The price starts from 19.5 million yen.
