1.5-Liter Turbo T3 Also Introduced

S60 Sedan, V60 WagonThe top-tier grades of the Volvo 60 series, which comprises three models—the sedan "S60," the wagon "V60," and the crossover "XC60"—have been equipped with the new "T6" engine.

The T6 engine is a 2.0-liter supercharged + direct-injection turbo gasoline engine, delivering a maximum output of 225kW (306ps) and a peak torque of 400Nm (40.8kgm). It is paired with an electronically controlled all-wheel-drive system and a newly developed 8-speed automatic transmission. All models will be sold as the top-grade "T6 AWD R-DESIGN."

Meanwhile, the "S60" and "V60" also feature the "T3," a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo gasoline engine, as an entry-grade option. This is combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission, producing a maximum output of 112kW (152ps) and a peak torque of 250Nm (25.5kgm).

Additionally, the existing2.0-liter turbo gasoline engine "T5"and2.0-liter four-cylinder direct-injection turbo diesel engine "D4"will continue to be available in the lineup.

Furthermore, all grades are equipped with "IntelliSafe," a suite of 10 safety and driver-assistance features, including a collision avoidance and mitigation system with pedestrian and cyclist detection, and adaptive cruise control with full-speed range follow.

Pricing starts at 4.34 million yen for the entry-grade "S60 T3 SE" and 6.14 million yen for the top-tier "S60 T6 AWD R-DESIGN." For the "V60," the "V60 T3 SE" is priced at 4.54 million yen, and the "V60 T6 AWD R-DESIGN" at 6.34 million yen. The "XC60" does not offer the "T3" engine; the "XC60 T6 R-DESIGN" is priced at 7.19 million yen.
