Five Engine Variations
To coincide with this minor change, five engine variations will be offered in Germany. These include three diesel options: two versions of the 2.0-liter TDI inline-four (105kW and 130kW) and a 3.0-liter V6 TDI. The gasoline options are a 2.0-liter TFSI inline-four producing 165kW, and a 3.0-liter V6 TSI with a supercharger, replacing the previous 3.2-liter. All engines are equipped with fuel-saving features such as direct fuel injection and start-stop systems, achieving up to a 15% improvement in fuel efficiency while enhancing engine performance. Drive is sent to all four wheels (quattro) except for the 105kW version of the 2.0 TDI.
The exterior, similar to the recently updatedA4Audi A4, features LED daytime running lights that encircle the outer edge of the headlights. The upper corners of the Singleframe grille have also been reshaped from rounded to a more angular, flowing form incorporating straight lines.
On the chassis side, the front five-link and rear trapezoidal-link suspension systems have been refined to improve ride comfort. The new electric power steering system adjusts its steering angle based on vehicle speed and is said to contribute to a fuel saving of 0.2 L/100km.
Hybrid Also Available
Additionally, the hybrid model, "Q5 Hybrid," continues to be offered. It combines a 2.0 TFSI gasoline engine with a maximum output of 155kW (211ps) and peak torque of 350Nm, with an electric motor producing 40kW (54ps) and 210Nm of torque. The system delivers a combined maximum output of 180kW (245ps) and peak torque of 480Nm. It accelerates from 0-100km/h in 7.1 seconds and has a top speed of 225km/h. It is also capable of running on electric power alone (EV mode), traveling approximately 3km at speeds around 60km/h. European combined fuel consumption is 6.9 L/100km (approximately 14.5 km/L).
Body dimensions are 4.63m in length, 1.90m in width, and 1.65m in height, with a wheelbase of 2.81m. The weight of the base model is 1,755kg. In its home market, the price for the 130kW version of the 2-liter diesel, a core model in Europe, starts at 39,900 Euros (approximately 4.2 million yen).
