Scheduled for Mid-2016 Release
The crossover variant "QX30," a sibling model to the compact "Q30" recently unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, is set to be revealed soon.
Like the Q30, it features a chassis developed for compact models through the Renault-Nissan Alliance and Daimler partnership. The QX30 boasts a crossover SUV style, with its ride height raised by 30-45mm compared to the Q30.
While detailed engine specifications have not been released, a wide range of diesel and gasoline options will be available to suit each market. The transmission can reportedly be equipped with a 7-speed dual-clutch, similar to the Q30. Furthermore, to enhance off-road capability and driving stability on low-grip surfaces, an intelligent all-wheel-drive system, capable of splitting up to 50 percent of torque to the rear, will also be offered.
The design faithfully inherits the sculpted exterior of the "QX30 Concept" shown at the Geneva Motor Show in March. The interior adopts an asymmetrical design.
Infiniti plans to launch the QX30 in mid-2016. Detailed specifications, including powertrain options, will be announced at that time.
