Limited Edition "Edition 1955" Launched for All DS Models


DS, a brand newly launched under Peugeot-Citroën Japan. For the time being, the models previously sold under the Citroën brand, "DS3," "DS4," and "DS5," will continue to be sold as they are. Now, a special "Edition 1955" specification, commemorating the original DS's birth, has been set for all these models. Sales will begin as a limited production run.

Exclusive Body Color Inspired by the DS21


The hatchback "DS 3," the crossover "DS 4," and the flagship "DS 5," now sold under the DS brand, will each be available in a limited production "Edition 1955" special specification, the first for the DS brand in Japan.


The model name "1955" originates from the fact that the Citroën "DS," which served as the basis for the brand name, debuted at the Paris Motor Show in 1955, exactly60 years ago in 195560 years ago. The exclusive deep blue body color, called "Bleu Ancré," is inspired by the 1968 "DS21," and features gold-accented DS 60th Anniversary logos and serial plates on the sides and rear.

The "DS 3 Edition 1955" is equipped with a 6-speed EAT transmission paired with a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder turbo engine producing a maximum output of 110 hp. While this powertrain is not currently available in the standard DS3, it is expected to appear in the catalog models soon. This limited edition model, featuring Nappa leather seats and 17-inch wheels, will be limited to just five units, priced at 2.96 million yen.


The "DS 4 Edition 1955," a crossover model with coupe-like flowing body lines and an SUV-like high eye-point, features 18-inch alloy wheels and semi-aniline leather seats as special equipment. The powertrain combines a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder turbo engine with a maximum output of 165 hp and a 6-speed EAT. Only 10 units will be sold, priced at 3.6 million yen.


The DS brand's flagship model, the "DS5," has undergone design changes to align with the new brand. The front now features a new design motif called "DS WING," replacing the previous double chevron. The headlights have also been replaced with a new design named "DS LED VISION."



The "Edition 1955" further adds a gold-accented analog clock and semi-aniline leather seats, priced at 4.6 million yen. It will be sold in a limited run of 30 units. The "DS 5 Edition 1955" is scheduled to be exhibited at the Tokyo Motor Show, which begins on October 28th.

All models come with the added benefit of an extended 5-year maintenance plan, up from the usual 3 years.
