Equipped with Exclusive R-Line Items Throughout

The Tiguan, which debuted in 2008 as Volkswagen's first compact SUV, has been updated. Following last year's model change, a sporty "R-Line" has been newly added to the "Sport & Style" trim that has been available until now.

The "R-Line" is a dress-up model that inherits the lineage of Volkswagen's "R" sports models, such as the "Golf R" and "Scirocco R." Like the "Sport & Style," it is powered by a 2-liter 4-cylinder TSI engine. It produces a maximum output of 132kW (179ps) at 4,500-6,200 rpm and a maximum torque of 280Nm (28.6kgm) at 1,700-4,500 rpm. The transmission is a 7-speed DSG, and the fuel economy in the 10/15 mode is 11.6 km/ℓ.

The equipment includes the "4MOTION" four-wheel-drive system, which boasts excellent driving stability and off-road capability, a system that detects driver fatigue and prompts breaks, "R-Line" exclusive sports suspension, and 19-inch alloy wheels.

The exterior is sportily finished with exclusive large front bumpers and front grille, "R-Line" emblems, body-colored side skirts, rear bumper, and rear spoiler.

The interior also appeals with a sophisticated, urban image, thanks to various "R-Line" exclusive items such as logo-emblazoned black and gray exclusive fabric seats, a leather three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, and door sill plates.

The available colors are Candy White and Deep Black Pearl Effect, with a price of 4.26 million yen.
