In the fiercely competitive premium compact car segment, the "A1," which debuted in Japan last January, has been popular for its agile performance thanks to the combination of a 1.4-liter turbo engine and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, as well as its high-quality exterior and interior that exude Audi's signature style despite its compact size. Now, it has undergone equipment revisions.

In this update, the "MMI (Multi Media Interface) HDD Navigation System," previously standard on all models, is now an optional feature. Instead, the "MMI Basic," which includes a radio/CD player, a 6.5-inch monitor, Bluetooth hands-free calling, and voice control functions, has become standard equipment.

Additionally, an Advanced Key system, allowing for keyless door locking/unlocking and engine start/stop by simply touching the door handle while the key is in a bag or pocket, is now available as an option. Inside, a new high-gloss garnet red color has been added for the colored sleeves that allow for custom coordination of the air vents. Furthermore, the sport steering wheel in the "Sport Package" now includes paddle shifters for more responsive gear changes.

The price for all grades equipped with the 1.4-liter direct-injection gasoline turbo engine and 7-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission, namely the "A1 1.4 TFSI," "A1 1.4 TFSI Sport Package," and "A1 1.4 TFSI Competition Package," has been reduced by ¥160,000. The entry-level "A1 1.4 TFSI" is now priced at ¥2,730,000.
