Volkswagen Group Japan announced the launch of the "TSI Trendline Blue Motion Technology," a new model for the Golf's entry-level "TSI Trendline" that incorporates an idling stop system and a brake energy regeneration system.

Achieving the Best Fuel Economy in Golf History
Since its debut as the sixth generation in April 2009, the Golf has balanced excellent performance and environmental friendliness through its high body rigidity and driving quality, combined with an efficient DSG transmission and a downsized engine with turbocharging.
To enable further fuel efficiency improvements, a new model, the "TSI Trendline Blue Motion Technology," has been introduced. It comes standard with an idling stop system and a brake energy regeneration system that charges the battery with inertial energy during deceleration, adjusting alternator output during acceleration to reduce engine load.
The base is the 1.2-liter entry-grade "TSI Trendline Premium Edition." The body, measuring 4,210mm in length, 1,790mm in width, and 1,485mm in height, is powered by a 1.2-liter inline 4-cylinder SOHC turbo engine. It produces a maximum output of 77kW (105ps) at 5,000rpm and a maximum torque of 157Nm (17.8kgm) at 1,500-4,100rpm, featuring the same powertrain as the "TSI Trendline Premium Edition."
However, fuel economy has improved by approximately 6 percent, from 17.4km/liter to 18.4km/liter in the 10-15 mode test. This marks the best fuel efficiency achieved by any Golf model to date. Furthermore, it is expected to qualify for the eco-car tax reduction (75% reduction) and the new eco-car subsidy (100,000 yen).
Notably, the price has been kept at 2.64 million yen, only 10,000 yen higher than the "TSI Trendline Premium Edition," due to some revisions in specifications.
