The C4 Appears with a Facelift and New Powertrain

Peugeot Citroën Japon announced on the 25th that the Citroën 5-door hatchback "C4" will be equipped with a new powertrain and a facelifted model. It will go on sale on Friday, September 11th.

Exterior: New Headlights and Rear Combination Lamps

The C4, which underwent a full model change in 2011, has received a minor change. This time, along with a facelift, a new powertrain combining a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder turbo engine with a new 6-speed transmission has been installed.

The 1.2-liter 3-cylinder engine, "PureTech 1.2L Turbo Engine," downsized from the previous 1.6-liter turbo, was developed by the PSA Peugeot Citroën Group as a new generation engine. It won International Engine of the Year 2015 and is also featured in Peugeot208and Citroën'sC3and other models.

It delivers a maximum output of 96 kW (130 ps) and a maximum torque of 230 Nm (23.5 kgm), realizing a powerful drive despite its small engine size. It is paired with the new generation 6-speed automatic transmission "EAT6" and newly features a start-stop function. Compared to the previous 1.6-liter turbo powertrain, the JC08 mode fuel economy has improved by 20 percent to 16.3 km/ℓ.

On the exterior, the headlights and rear combination lamps have been renewed. The front features LED lamps in addition to sharp-looking halogen lights, and the rear lamps adopt a unique design that provides a 3D visual effect.

There are two grades available: the entry-grade "Seduction" priced at 2.76 million yen, and the "Seduction Upgrade" priced at 2.96 million yen, which is 200,000 yen more and includes enhanced equipment such as a panoramic glass roof. Additionally, six body colors are offered, including the new "Gris Esprit."

Furthermore, to commemorate this facelift, a "New C4 Launch Special Navigation Present Campaign" will start on the C4's launch date, Friday, September 11th, offering a navigation system worth 150,000 yen free of charge to the first 100 customers.
