An Exclusive Four-Door Coupe
The BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe shares its chassis and basic components with the Coupe and Convertible models of the same series, featuring a lightweight design that extensively uses aluminum. However, to accommodate the four-door configuration, the wheelbase has been extended by 113mm compared to the conventional coupe model, ensuring ample rear legroom. Furthermore, by folding down the rear seats, the rear space can be utilized as an extended trunk, increasing luggage capacity from the standard 460 liters to 1,265 liters.
The seats, positioned slightly higher than those in the Coupe and Convertible, are upholstered in Dakota leather. The driver and front passenger seats are electrically adjustable with memory functions and heating. Optionally, they can be upgraded to even more luxurious Nappa leather. The Bang & Olufsen High-End Surround Sound System is also available as an option.
Three Engine Options Available
Although announced for the German market, three distinct grades have been established based on engine differences.
The 640i is equipped with a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder direct-injection twin-turbo gasoline engine. It produces a maximum output of 235 kW (320 hp) at 5,800-6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 450 Nm at 1,300-4,500 rpm. Fuel consumption is rated at 7.7-7.9 L/100km, with CO2 emissions at 179-183 g/km. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 5.4 seconds.
The 640d features a 3.0-liter twin-turbo diesel engine, delivering a maximum output of 230 kW (313 hp) at 4,400 rpm. It achieves a maximum torque of 630 Nm between 1,500 and 2,500 rpm. Fuel efficiency is 5.5-5.7 L/100km, with CO2 emissions at 146-149 g/km. The 0-100 km/h sprint is also completed in 5.4 seconds.
The flagship model is the 650i, which is also available with the BMW xDrive all-wheel-drive system. Its 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo gasoline engine generates a maximum output of 330 kW (450 hp) at 5,500-6,000 rpm and a peak torque of 650 Nm from 2,000-4,500 rpm.
Fuel consumption for the xDrive-equipped model is 9.2-9.4 L/100km, with CO2 emissions at 215-219 g/km. It completes the 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4.5 seconds.
All models are paired with an 8-speed sports automatic transmission. Fuel efficiency is enhanced through features such as the auto start-stop function and the "ECO PRO" mode.
