Showcasing a New Generation of Audi

Since the launch of the first-generation TT in 1998, over 500,000 units have been sold, with this compact sports car, a flagship for the modern Audi image, leading the brand. Now, following a full model change approximately nine years after the second generation's debut in 2006, the third-generation TT has arrived in Japan, marking its premiere.

The new models introduced this time as the third-generation TT are the TT Coupé, TT Roadster, and TTS. The exterior design retains the TT's identity with its characteristic flared fenders, arched roofline, and aluminum filler cap, ensuring instant recognition. However, it adopts a newly designed hexagonal single-frame grille and distinctive matrix LED headlights with vertical cut lines. Furthermore, like the R8, the four rings have been relocated to the bonnet, giving it a distinct expression from its predecessor and emphasizing its status as a new-generation Audi model.

All models are equipped with a 2.0-liter direct-injection gasoline turbo engine, delivering a maximum output of 230 ps and a peak torque of 370 Nm. The TTS features a higher-output version with 286 ps and 380 Nm. A 6-speed S tronic transmission is paired with all models. For drivetrain, the TT Coupé offers two types: front-wheel drive (FF) and Audi's latest generation of its proprietary quattro all-wheel-drive technology. The TT Roadster and TTS are exclusively quattro仕様.

The highlight of the new TT is undoubtedly the fully digital, multi-function Audi Virtual Cockpit. This system integrates all display functions, including navigation and infotainment, alongside traditional speedometer and tachometer readings, onto a high-resolution digital LCD display within the instrument cluster. This not only enhances visibility and operability but also achieves a more refined interior design by eliminating the conventional central display on the dashboard.

Pricing starts at ¥5,420,000 for the TT Coupé 2.0 TFSI, with the TT Coupé 2.0 TFSI quattro at ¥5,890,000, the TT Roadster 2.0 TFSI quattro at ¥6,050,000, and the TTS Coupé 2.0 TFSI quattro at ¥7,680,000. Sales commence today.

Additionally, Audi Japan is hosting a launch event titled "Audi TT Landing, Japan," where the new TT will symbolically descend upon various locations across Japan from space. The first phase of this initiative involves a collaborative project at the World Cultural Heritage site of Enryaku-ji Temple on Mount Hiei, taking place today, the 20th (Thursday), and tomorrow, the 21st (Friday).
