User Interface with Flick and Drag Gestures

The lineup includes two models: the "CN-H500WD" for 200mm wide consoles and the "CN-H500D" for 180mm consoles. Both feature a 7-inch display and a seamless, premium flat face, including the buttons. The "CN-H500WD" is particularly noteworthy as it accommodates the increasingly common 200mm wide consoles found in many vehicles today. This eliminates the need for spacers, ensuring a perfect fit and a seamlessly integrated installation.

A key operational feature is the new "Motion Control" user interface, which allows for flick (swipe) and drag (trace) gestures, similar to those used on smartphones and tablet PCs.

This interface can be used not only for the main menu but also for map and list screen operations, enabling smoother navigation.

On the navigation screen, the "Full Screen Map" mode enhances visibility by hiding menu icons during normal use, displaying only the map. Furthermore, the "Approach Sensor" displays operation buttons on the screen when you bring your hand near the unit, and the "Direct Launcher" menu allows customization of frequently used functions, offering added appeal.

Environmentally Conscious Features

The navigation functions have also been further enhanced. In addition to "Auto," "Toll Priority," "General Priority," and "Distance Priority" modes, a new "eco" mode has been introduced that displays routes designed to reduce stop-and-go driving due to traffic congestion and considers toll road fees. The "eco drive assist" function automatically calculates fuel efficiency based on entered refueling amounts and learns your acceleration and braking habits to support more eco-friendly driving, reflecting a growing environmental awareness.

The Wide VGA LCD screen employs a "Clear Panel" with higher transparency than previous models. Combined with the "LED backlight," this significantly improves screen brightness and visibility. Additionally, the illumination for the operation buttons can be selected from eight colors to suit user preference.

The audio system is also robust, featuring a high-performance digital TV tuner and antenna that improve the reception range and quality of full-segment broadcasts. Panasonic's proprietary "PEAKS processor" handles digital signal processing from input to output, delivering high-quality video comparable to that of Panasonic's VIERA flat-screen TVs. Furthermore, a built-in Bluetooth unit enables hands-free mobile phone calls, wireless playback of music data, and even viewing of still images from home, offering exceptional convenience.
