Sales to Begin in China at the End of May

Last September, Dongfeng Nissan announced the launch of a new brand, Venucia, as part of its future growth strategy in the Chinese market. The first concept car for this brand has now been revealed. Venucia is developed by Dongfeng Nissan, with mass-produced vehicles scheduled for sale in 2012. This will give Dongfeng Nissan two brands: 'Nissan' and 'Venucia'.

To launch Venucia, the company has established an organization encompassing design, R&D, production, and marketing and sales networks, aiming to respond swiftly to the diverse needs of customers in the rapidly growing Chinese market. Fumiaki Matsumot, General Manager of Dongfeng Nissan, stated, "We aim to sell over one million vehicles annually in China in the future. The new brand will play a significant role in achieving this goal by offering high-quality, practical models."

The design theme of the concept car unveiled this time is "Soaring." It evokes the image of a bird spreading its wings, poised for flight. This represents the growth of the new brand alongside the expanding Chinese market and embodies the brand tagline, "View the World, Delight in China."

Dongfeng Nissan also announced plans for future products and sales networks. The first Venucia model will be launched in the first half of 2012, with an additional model to be added later that year. At the time of the first model's launch, there are plans for 100 dedicated Venucia dealerships.

Ren Yong, Deputy General Manager of the company, commented, "We will introduce Venucia in 2012 with products and a sales network that guarantee world-class quality. We eagerly anticipate fulfilling our promise to Chinese customers with this brand."

The name Venucia is derived from the ancient Roman word for "Venus." The five stars depicted in the logo represent the brand's five commitments: "Pioneering the future," "Respecting customers," "Creating value," "Pursuing and executing excellence," and "Achieving world-class quality."
