Powered by a V8 Turbo Engine Inherited from the AMG GT
Since its world premiere at the Paris Salon last September,Paris Salonmany have likely been eagerly awaiting its release. The AMG model, reigning at the pinnacle of the C-Class, the core of Mercedes-Benz, has finally landed in Japan today, joining the lineup.
the previous "C 63 AMG (W/S 204)"the successor to the model, has been developed based on the concept of "Agility & Intelligence" from the current model (W/S 205) that appeared in 2014.the current model (W/S 205)It incorporates numerous unique racing technologies honed through motorsports by Mercedes-AMG.
The power unit that most highlights its appeal replaces the previous generation's 6.2-liter V8 naturally aspirated engine, the "M156," with the newly developed 4.0-liter V8 direct-injection twin-turbo engine, the "M177," which shares its basic design with Mercedes-AMG's latest sports model,AMG GT"AMG GT." Adhering to the "One man - one engine" philosophy, a single master craftsman meticulously assembles each engine by hand from start to finish, according to strict quality standards.
The new model is available in two grades, "C 63" and "C 63 S," differing in specifications and equipment. The "C 63" boasts 476 hp (350 kW) and 650 Nm of torque, while the "C 63 S" delivers 510 hp (350 kW) and 700 Nm. The C 63 S achieves an astonishing 0-100 km/h acceleration in just 4.0 seconds.
The transmission is a 7-speed wet dual-clutch AMG Speedshift MCT, abandoning the conventional torque converter. In addition to the transmission's shift programs, the AMG Dynamic Select system allows drivers to adjust the car's character to their preference with a single button, controlling engine characteristics (including the exhaust system), suspension, and steering. It offers modes such as "Comfort," "Sport," "Sport Plus," and "Individual." The C63 S further includes a "Race" mode, a dedicated setting for exhilarating circuit driving.
