At the Detroit Motor Show, Jaguar Land Rover announced that its first SUV model under the Jaguar brand would be released in 2016.

The "C-X 17 concept," which served as the basis for the "F-Pace," made its world premiere at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Since then, it has been showcased in various locations, including Japan. The positive reception, exceeding expectations, led to the decision for production.

According to Jaguar's designer, Ian Callum, "Inspired by the F-Type, the F-Pace is a model that balances performance, styling, and practicality, and is undoubtedly a member of the Jaguar sports car family." He further explained that the "F" in the name, of course, originates from the F-Type and Jaguar's classic sports cars, while "Pace" signifies "grace," "space," and "pace."

Manufactured at Jaguar's Solihull plant in the UK, the F-Pace will inherit features from the C-X17 concept, such as a lightweight body extensively using aluminum, a five-seater luxurious interior, the latest suspension system, and the "All Surface Progress Control" all-wheel-drive system for reliable traction regardless of road conditions or weather. However, details regarding the engine and other specifications will be revealed later this year.
