BMW Last week's engine detailsFollowing last week's engine details, we've now released footage from the new MINI's commercial shoot. While glimpses of the new model, set to debut next month, can be seen, the star of the commercial is a bulldog.

Announcing the new MINI, set for November 18 – the 107th birthday of Alec Issigonis, considered the father of MINI.Preparations are steadily advancing, with production at the Oxford plant scheduled to commence within weeks. Now, new details regarding the commercial and its filming have been released.



The commercial's star is a bulldog named Spike. The story follows his journey as he learns about the new MINI through driving, gradually warming to the initially unappealing compact car. The commercial was filmed over four days in Hollywood, involving a crew of 120 people and canine specialists.




The released filming scenes feature the star Spike, a Great Dane representing a rival large car, and the new MINI appearing throughout.



In the background photos, parts of the previously concealed front design can be glimpsed. Though indistinct,MINI Vision Conceptwe can discern the hexagonal chrome-plated front grille seen in the MINI Vision Concept, and the intake-like elements below it, emphasized with chrome. Additionally, characteristic MINI features such as the oval side mirrors mounted on the doors and the chrome strip encircling the boundary between the body and the glass area appear to be carried over.

Following its November 18 unveiling, the new MINI is scheduled to be showcased at various motor shows. Currently, public reveals are confirmed for Los Angeles, California, and the Tokyo Motor Show, commencing November 23. An official announcement event will also be held for the Chinese market.



Production of the third-generation MINI is set to begin at the Oxford plant by year's end, with global deliveries anticipated in the first quarter of 2014.
