Concept: "All Four Occupants are Equal Friends"
Targeting young Chinese men born in the 1980s, a demographic currently numbering 240 million, the "Friend-ME" features an exterior with strong, sculptural lines and an interior designed to foster an exciting experience for four friends sharing equal standing.
This concept car was primarily developed by Nissan Design China in Beijing. Its low and wide silhouette, combined with short front and rear overhangs, gives it a solid yet aggressive and sporty presence.
Furthermore, the "V-motion shape" flowing from the grille to the fenders and body sides, the "boomerang shape" seen in the headlamps and rear combination lamps, and the low "floating roof" designed to express lightness, along with the upward-sweeping C-pillar design, represent Nissan's new design concept for future vehicles.
Turning to the interior, which features independent seats for four occupants, the first thing that catches the eye is the LCD touchscreen extending from the front to the rear of the center console. This can be operated from all four seats, allowing occupants to share information amongst themselves.
While details of the powertrain have not been disclosed, it has been announced that the Friend-ME is being developed as a hybrid vehicle.
