Production Version of "S-Cross" Makes World Debut

The concept car "S-Cross," which Suzuki unveiled at theParis Motor Show 2012, has finally been announced as the next-generation "SX4."

The available engines are a 1.6-liter gasoline and a 1.6-liter diesel. The gasoline engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed CVT with manual mode, while the diesel engine comes with a 6-speed manual transmission.



Both front-wheel drive (FF) and four-wheel drive (4WD) are offered, and all models are equipped with an engine auto-stop system. CO2 emissions are announced as 125g/km for the 2WD gasoline model and 136g/km for the 4WD. For the diesel engine models, emissions are 110g/km for 2WD and 115g/km for 4WD, achieving class-leading low emissions.

The body dimensions are 4,300mm in length and 1,765mm in width. The height is 1,575mm for models equipped with 16-inch tires and 1,570mm for those with 17-inch tires. While the increase in body size compared to the previous model is minimal, the front and rear seat pitch has been expanded to a class-leading 814mm. The luggage space has also been significantly increased from 270 liters to 430 liters, enhancing usability.

The sunroof, which Suzuki claims is a world-first with its "double sliding glass panel" that opens in two sections front and rear, boasts the largest opening in its class. Furthermore, body rigidity has been improved, enhancing crash safety, and the vehicle has received a 5-star rating from Euro NCAP.
