Ferrari's New Symbol, LaFerrari
Approximately 12 years have passed since the debut of the "Enzo Ferrari." The new special edition, previously codenamed "F150," has been given the name "LaFerrari," signifying passion, technology, and uniqueness that embody the "Prancing Horse." With a limited production of only 499 units, today marks its world debut.
Information about a 6.3-liter V12 engine producing 740 hp combined with Ferrari's first-ever hybrid system and a carbon fiber monocoque chassis wasannounced in advanceannounced prior to the official reveal. However, beyond that, only a few teaser images were released. In contrast to McLaren's "P1" which gradually revealed its specifications, LaFerrari remained shrouded in mystery.
According to the specifications released today, the engine's maximum output is 800 hp, generated at 9,000 rpm. Combined with a 163 hp (120 kW) electric motor, the total system output reaches 963 hp with a maximum torque of 900 Nm. Equipped with Pirelli P-Zero tires (265/30 R19 at the front and 345/30 R20 at the rear) and an F1 dual-clutch gearbox integrated with the electric motor, it achieves 0-100 km/h in under 3 seconds and 0-200 km/h in under 7 seconds.
CO2 emissions are rated at 330 g/km. While pure electric driving is not possible, experimental runs have achieved figures around 220 g/km. The battery is recharged during deceleration or by utilizing surplus engine power.
Its lap time at Ferrari's test track, Fiorano, is under 1 minute 20 seconds. This is 5 seconds faster than the "Enzo" and approximately 3 seconds faster than the "F12berlinetta" Thus, the "LaFerrari" becomes the world's fastest road-going Ferrari.
