CLS 63 AMG Features 585hp Engine, a 28hp Increase

Mercedes-BenzThe revised E63 AMGwill unveil the revised CLS 63 AMG and CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake at the Detroit Motor Show. These models feature AMG's 4MATIC (4WD) with a 33:67 front-to-rear torque split and a more powerful 5.5-liter V8 twin-turbo engine.

AMG Earns the "S" Designation

The top-tier "CLS 63 AMG 4MATIC S Model" of the new CLS 63 AMG, set to be unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show, utilizes a 5.5-liter V8 twin-turbo engine. While sharing the same displacement as its sibling, the "E63 AMG",The newly released E63 AMG "S Model"its output has been increased by 28hp to a maximum of 585hp (430kW). The transmission remains the 7-speed AMG Speedshift MCT, as in the previous model.

Additionally, like the revised "E63 AMG", the "CLS 63 AMG" will continue to offer an FR (rear-wheel drive) model. This version is equipped with a 5.5-liter V8 twin-turbo engine that produces an enhanced maximum output of 557hp (410kW) and a peak torque of 73.4kgm (720Nm). This 557hp output matches the previous high-performance version with the AMG Performance Package. Compared to the previous base model, this represents an increase of 33hp (24kW) and 2.1kgm (20Nm) in output, respectively.

The new lineup and engine outputs are as follows.

Sales for the rear-wheel drive CLS 63 AMG (Shooting Brake) are scheduled to begin in April, while the all-wheel drive CLS 63 AMG 4MATIC (Shooting Brake, including the S Model) will go on sale in June.
