Golf CabrioletThe Golf Cabriolet GTI, the first-ever GTI in the series, is, as its name suggests, a Golf Cabriolet...Golf GTI...endowed with the performance of the Golf GTI. Its fundamental performance inherits that of the Golf GTI, featuring a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder turbo engine that produces a maximum output of 155kW (210ps) and a maximum torque of 280Nm from 1700 rpm. It boasts brisk acceleration from 0-100 km/h in 7.2 seconds and a top speed of 237 km/h (235 km/h for the DSG version). The electronic differential lock (EDS) integrated with ESP and the electronic transverse-locking differential (XDS) are standard equipment. The transmission is based on a 6-speed manual, with an optional 6-speed DSG available.

The fabric soft top opens in 9.5 seconds and closes in 11 seconds via an electro-hydraulic system, operable at speeds up to 30 km/h. State-of-the-art safety features, including a rollover protection system that deploys instantly in case of a rollover and five airbags (including a driver's knee airbag), are standard. The trunk capacity remains unchanged from the existing model, offering 250 liters.

The exterior faithfully inherits that of the Golf GTI, with the red horizontal line on the front, the "GTI" badge, the honeycomb mesh grille, and the large air inlets below the bumper all clearly proclaiming its GTI identity at first glance. At the rear, it is equipped with dark red LED taillights, dual chrome-finished exhaust tips, and a diffuser. For the wheels, 17-inch alloy wheels with 225/45 tires are standard, with an option for 18-inch alloy wheels with 225/40 tires, featuring a black inner finish and polished outer surface.

The interior also follows that of the Golf GTI, with tartan check fabric seats (leather seats are optional), a leather-wrapped steering wheel with GTI emblems, and red-stitched leather trim as standard. Additionally, the interior is unified in black, including metallic-look trim lines, the soft top liner, and the pillars.

Like other Volkswagen models, environmental considerations are also addressed at a high level. The fuel consumption for the MT model is 7.6 L/100km (approximately 13.16 km/L), with CO2 emissions of 177g/km. This Golf Cabriolet GTI is scheduled for delivery in Germany this summer.
