A Car That Balances Sports Car Performance with Everyday Usability
This is the third generation of the RS4 Avant. While it is 20mm longer and 24mm wider than the A4 Avant, it is also 20mm lower. Its chassis, which extensively uses aluminum, is powered by a 4.2-liter V8 engine—also found in the "RS5 Coupe"—producing a maximum output of 331kW/8,250rpm and a maximum torque of 430Nm/4,000–6,000rpm. Combined with a 7-speed S tronic transmission and "quattro" all-wheel drive, it achieves 0-100km/h acceleration in 4.7 seconds, featuring a launch control function that efficiently transfers propulsion to the road during starts. The top speed is normally limited to 250km/h, but can be increased to 280km/h upon request. This is an ambitious car that also boasts high everyday usability as a wagon. Fuel economy is under 11ℓ/100km.
Interior Finished in Black
The front-to-rear torque distribution is 40:60. It can distribute up to 70 percent to the front and 85 percent to the rear. The tires are 265/35R19 on 10-spoke aluminum wheels. Additionally, 265/30R20 tires are available as an option, paired with titanium-look wheels.
The interior is unified in black, with chrome switches and knobs, and an optional silver roof liner providing accents.
Sales will begin in autumn 2012. The price in Germany starts from 76,600 euros.
