316kW, 520Nm, 0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds!
The designation "GTS," first bestowed upon the legendary 904 Carrera GTS in 1963, is a title reserved for models within the Porsche lineup that boast exceptional performance. This prestigious GTS name has now been given to the Panamera.
The 4.8-liter V8 engine, enhanced for the GTS, produces a maximum output of 316kW (430ps) at 6,700 rpm, 22kW (30ps) more than the Panamera S and 4S, with an increased maximum torque of 520Nm, up by 20Nm. It is equipped with a 7-speed PDK transmission and combined with the PTM all-wheel-drive system. The Sport Chrono package is standard, ensuring dynamic driving. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 288 km/h.
In line with Porsche's current lineup, it also boasts high environmental performance, with fuel consumption rated at 10.9ℓ/100 km (approximately 9.2 km/ℓ) according to the NEDC (New European Driving Cycle). When fitted with tires featuring reduced rolling resistance, this figure improves to 10.7ℓ/100 km (approximately 9.3 km/ℓ).
Beyond the powertrain, features include enhanced brakes, a chassis lowered by 10mm compared to the base model, and an optimized suspension system utilizing air suspension and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM).
The PASM and adaptive air suspension are equipped with self-leveling, ride height control, variable spring rate, and electronic damper control systems. These enhance driving dynamics, resulting in a model that delivers excellent performance on the track without sacrificing practicality. The dampers are set firmer to improve agility, and the tires are a substantial size: 255/45ZR19 at the front and 285/40ZR19 at the rear.
The interior is adorned with features such as sports seats, a sports design steering wheel with shift paddles, and exclusive GTS leather interior and Alcantara trim. This vehicle is scheduled for its Japan premiere at the 42nd Tokyo Motor Show 2011.
The price in Japan, available in both right-hand and left-hand drive, is 15.54 million yen.
