Test drive of the Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica in Spain — We also spoke with CEO Winkelmann about the next model | Lamborghini
CEO Winkelmann Discusses Lamborghini's Electrification
"This year marks the final year for engine models. First, the Huracan Tecnica will be released, followed by a facelifted Urus in August, and the last Huracan (though details were not disclosed, it's likely the tall version) in December. Then, following our 'Cor Tauri' (path to electrification) initiative, the first PHEV model will arrive in 2023, all ranges will be hybridized by 2024, and CO2 emissions will be halved by 2025. A fully electric model is planned for 2028."
Speaking in the lounge above the pit at the Valencia Circuit is the company's CEO, Stephan Winkelmann.
"When considering the successors to our high-performance models with V12 and V10 engines, we must consider four elements: design, style, performance, and sound. While the first three are straightforward, the fourth element, 'sound,' is still under research and we haven't found a definitive answer yet. However, Lamborghini's customer base is getting younger, and their perspectives are also changing. They are seeking dream cars, so we must constantly think about solutions and responses. As I mentioned earlier, a fully electric model will arrive in 2028, and there is still much to do for supercars, with a 2+2 GT car also in the planning."

More specifically, "The successor to the Aventador will be a V12 PHEV. For the V10, we can't say anything definitive yet, and regarding V8 or V6 engines like other manufacturers, I don't know," he says with a smile.
As of May this year, 4,197 units have already been sold worldwide, indicating that Lamborghini's sales remain strong. Maintaining this momentum, the company plans to invest 18 billion euros over the next five years to advance towards electrification, suggesting that considerable anticipation is warranted for the upcoming electric models.
