Audi released the 24 Hours of Le Mans"Audi SQ 5 TDI" in 2012, coinciding with the 24 Hours of Le Mans. It is the first S model to appear in Audi's Q model SUV lineup. It is a premium SUV that generates a maximum output of 230kW (313ps) and a maximum torque of 650Nm from a 3-liter V6 diesel engine with two turbochargers, boasting a 0-100km/h acceleration of 5.1 seconds.
This "SQ 5 TDI" was test-driven by Allan McNish, a driver who was part of the winning team in the 6-hour endurance race held here, at Silverstone Circuit, the venue for the first round of the 2013 FIA World Endurance Championship. Audi has released a video of that occasion.
In the video, McNish says,
"The first thing to note about this car is its balance. In addition, it also possesses sharp sportiness. The " R18 e-tron quattro" that we have been driving for some time is also a racing car equipped with a diesel engine, and I know that high-performance diesel engines offer superb power, torque, and economy. The same applies to the SQ5."
"The track at Silverstone Circuit is wet today, but the SQ5 has good weight balance and a low center of gravity. Although the seating position is high, it doesn't feel like you're driving a heavy, large car. It feels more like a sports car."
he commented.
"It's a wonderful car. An all-rounder with a balance of power, comfort, and economy. I drove it for the first time today, and it was enjoyable. Well then, I should be getting back to the R18 e-tron quattro."
he concluded.
